Home Runs + Goals + Double Doubles + Touchdowns - Average finish at 4 majors, players and tour championship
That means six golf tournaments in total
Roster:
Every roster will consist of 2 players drafted for each of the following categories:
Baseball Player
Hockey Player
Basketball Player
Quarterback
Skill Position Player
Golfer
All players who have not been drafted already are eligible to be drafted at any time. The draft is multi sport.
Along with the 2 drafted players you will also be given one waiver for each category which can be used from the moment the draft ends through the final game/round of the first half of the season. You must email the group to announce your waiver and they will be added to your roster. You cannot change that decision once submitted. That player will receive their results for the entire season, including prior to being claimed on waivers
Between the draft and waiver player you will have 3 players for each category by the end of the season
Draft order will be reverse of prior year finish based on current standings on the date of the draft
Waiver Rules:
Waiver claims must be made prior to a teams halfway point. For each sport this means it must occur before the team has played the number of games/events shown below. Teams will not all have the same midway point (NFL bye weeks) As long as the team you pick up from hasn't passed the midway point the player is eligible
NBA: Before the 42nd game
NHL: Before the 42nd game
MLB: Before the 82nd game
NFL: Before the 9th game
PGA: Before the fourth tournament has started - I.E before the US Open
Scoring:
You will receive one score for each of the roster groups noted above. That score will be the highest score from any one individual player. There will be no averaging or summing. The score will include only the regular season
You will receive 1 point for each home run, goal, double double, touchdown
Touchdowns include passing, receiving, rushing, kick return, fumble recovery, etc...Although we will begin the draft during football season, all touchdowns will be counted including those occurring prior to the draft.
Golf score is based on average finishing position for one individual golfer across 6 tournaments noted in the objective section. You do not get the best result of individual tournaments combined across players. Only one player's results will be counted. If your golfer misses the cut they will receive a finish of 1 higher than the last player to make the cut, regardless of position prior to cut. The same will be done if your player does not participate in the tournament at all. You will not be given a pass on the tournament when calculating an average If your player does not qualify for the tour championship they will be treated in the same manner and given a finish one higher than the last qualifier.
If you draft (not pick up on waivers) the league leader in a category you will receive a 3 point bonus added to your overall score for each league leader drafted
Prizes:
The highest scorer will receive free accomodations (house rental and if applicable air fare) paid for by the 5 other participants and 1 round of golf paid for by the person in last place. There will be a cap on how much the non-winners spend so it doesn't get overly expensive (maybe $300 for now)
The highest scorer will also get to choose their bedroom first and the choice of bed/bedroom will continue down the standings with 2nd picking next, then 3rd, etc...
In the event that we do not travel, the winner will receive all golf and food free over the course of the guys weekend. Last place will still be responsible for paying for one round of golf by themself. The remaining golf and meals will be split among the non-winners
Last place will also have the added responsibility of planning the trip for the following year. The first year would be 2020 since the loser of the first season won't be known until September/October 2019. Planning the trip is to be done solely by the person in last place who will not inform the rest of the group of where it will occur until 1 month before the trip. Although the exact weekend should be made known as early as possible to ensure everyone is able to attend. Take some pride in planning it. It is a lot of responsibility, but I think the suspense of not knowing where we are going until just before the trip will be pretty cool.
